Following user complaints, Apple made available an older version of iTunes that users can download and use on their Macs and 32-bit or 64-bit PCs. This iTunes version returns the ability to download and install apps to your computer. Apps can transform the way you do anything you’re passionate about, whether that’s creating, learning, playing games or just getting more done. And the App Store is the best place to discover new apps that let you pursue your passions in ways you never thought possible.

How to search for apps in the App Store

In order to get all the cool apps you want on your phone, you need to know how to search for them.

1. Launch the App Store.
2. Tap the magnifying glass on the bottom right of your screen.
3. Type in your search query and tap the search button.

And away you go.

How to download apps and games from the App Store

Once you've searched for the app you want, it's time to download and install it.

1. Tap the app or game you wish to purchase or download for free.
2. Tap Get if it is free, or the price of the app if it is paid.

3. Place your finger on the Home button to activate Touch ID or double-click the side button for Face ID.

How to manually update apps and games on iPhone and iPad

1. Open the App Store app.
2. Tap your Profile icon in the upper-right corner.

3. Scroll down and tap Update for apps that need an update.

How to automatically update apps an games on your iPhone and iPad

Apple gives you the option to have app updates take place automatically. That way, you don't have to keep checking to see what needs an update.

1. Open the Settings app.
2. Tap iTunes & App Store.

3. Under automatic downloads, tap App Updates to toggle the switch on.

How to automatically download apps and games you buy on one device onto others

If you own more than one Apple device, like an iPhone and an iPad, or an iPad and an iPod touch, or all three, you can automatically download apps and games onto all of them if they are all under the same Apple ID. Well, you can't download iPad-only apps onto an iPhone or iPod touch, but that is the only restriction.

1. Open the Settings app.
2. Tap iTunes & App Store.

3. Under Automatic Downloads, tap Apps to toggle the switch on.

You can also turn on automatic downloads for music, iBooks, and audiobooks the same way.

How to disable app updates over cellular

If you have concerns about using up too much of your cellular data, it is a very good idea to disable downloading updates over cellular, especially if you have automatic updates turned on.

1. Open the Settings app.
2. Tap iTunes & App Store.

3. Tap Automatic Downloads under Cellular Data to toggle the switch off.

There are four Fishing Tourneys each year in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Here's when they are and what the rules are for participating.

You can browse and buy apps in the App Store on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, on your Apple Watch, on your Mac, or on your Apple TV.

Browse and buy

To download and buy apps from the App Store, you need an Apple ID. Your Apple ID is the account that you use to access Apple services. If you use other Apple services like iCloud, sign in to the App Store with the same Apple ID. If you don't have an Apple ID, you can create one.

If you're in the App Store on any of your devices and see the download button near an app, you already bought or downloaded that app. When you tap or click the download button , the app downloads to your device again, but you are not charged again. You can also see a list of apps that you purchased and redownload them.

Learn what payment methods you can use to buy apps and other content. You can also create an Apple ID without a payment method when you download a free app.

1. Tap the App Store app on your Home screen.
2. Browse or search for the app that you want to download, then tap the app.
3. Tap the price or tap Get. You might need to sign in with your Apple ID.
   If you find a game that says Arcade, subscribe to Apple Arcade to play the game.

After your app finishes downloading, you can move it to a different spot on your Home screen. Apps stay up-to-date by default, but you can learn more about updating apps.

You can make additional purchases within some apps. If you set up Family Sharing, you can use Ask to Buy so that kids must get permission before they make in-app purchases. Learn more about in-app purchases.

If an app is sold with an iMessage app or sticker pack, you can open it in Messages.

How to buy apps on your Apple Watch

With watchOS 6, you can download apps directly from the App Store on your Apple Watch. You can also add apps to your Apple Watch from your iPhone.

1. Open the App Store app.
2. Browse or search for the app that you want to download, then tap the app.
3. Tap the price or tap Get. You might need to sign in with your Apple ID.

Apps stay up-to-date by default, but you can learn more about updating apps.

If you set up Family Sharing, you can use Ask to Buy so that kids must get permission before they download an app or make an in-app purchase. Learn more about in-app purchases.

• If your App Store is missing or you can't find it on your device, you might have parental controls turned on. Adjust your iTunes & App Store Purchases settings and make sure that you choose 'Allow' for the Installing Apps setting.

• Learn what to do if you can't download apps, or if apps get stuck.
